When a new hedgehog comes to us their first port of call is the intensive care unit where we follow a few standard procedures... - Remove any parasites such as ticks, fleas etc
- check for ringworm or any other contagious element
- give them a bath to clean them up and we can also check that all their legs are being used correctly.
If during this time we can not find anything wrong with them they go into an observation chamber in the intensive care unit with a good supply of food and water.
